This is one classic you shouldn't miss. Although it takes a while to warm up to the protagonist, by the end of the book you are so thoroughly drawn into her world that you can't put it down. This is one of my favourite books, but it seems no-one else more ...

I loved this book - it is surreal and unique, and impossible to put down. Jonathan Coe seems to enjoy putting his plots together a bit like Dickens - all the various different threads come together satisfyingly in the end. more ...
