A shallow re-hashing of old ideas from 1) stevemcconnell.com on professionalism 2) GoF on patterns with a mix of 3) futile attempts to use unrelated examples of table-building and the Apollo project 4) shallow references to Christopher Alexander.

"Applying UML and Patterns" (3rd Edition) by Craig Larman is still the best integrated guide to OOA&D and application of patterns although it targeted a rather inexperienced audience.
