Description

Malory's majestic account of the Arthurian legends was one of England's first printed books, and has remained an inspiration for readers and writers down the centuries since it was first published by William Caxton in 1485. His eight tales share common characters and a common interest in the themes of love, chivalry and religion as they tell of the knights of the Round Table, their quests, their betrayals and, finally, the death of King Arthur and the disbandment of the Fellowship. This magnificent and evocative edition is based on the 1893 edition, decorated and illustrated by Aubrey Beardsley.
