Review

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book at my local library. The only other books by Levine that I'd read prior were Ella Enchanted and The Two Princess of Bamarre, and I didn't exactly remember Levine's writing style.

Let's just say that I was happily surprised.

Levine tells the story of a god, Olus, who falls in love with a girl in another country (Kezi). This is where the plot thickens- Kezi must be sacrificed to her people's god, but Olus does not think that he even exists. Together Olus and Kezi must pass trials to make Kezi an immortal goddess- can their love be strong enough?

This is one of those books that you can't exactly describe- you can only read and enjoy. My favorite part: Levine's description of Kezi and Olus' love... how Olus fell in love at first sight, but Kezi was the more practical of the pair.
