Review

I'd always had a merchant ivory tinted view of E M Forster. And never even been patient enough to watch one of their films on him. Dry and dusty would have been my impression (Because Schools fail in giving us proper appreciation of literature).

Then I read Angels.

And then I thought. Wow.

I was literally breathless by the time I finished it. It blew me away. The audacity of the story is something beyond compare. The unfolding tragedy that is almost averted and the veil drawn over the whole thing is simply some of the most wonderful writing I have yet to come across.

I had a disagreement with a colleague who didn't like it. She said that she felt that Forster had gotten to the middle of a story and simply given up and wrapped it up too easily. I disagree. The story here is perfect in every way. This is a book everyone should read on the dangers of society.
