This book is just the amount of fear, relatable moments and King’s usual dose of gore and bad humour. Mr Mercedes itself is confusing, but the plot gives enough information for us to love even the villain’s darkest thoughts and actions. With the creepy combination of Hodges’ post-police career depression and his unseemly friend Jerome and his racial suppression, the one murder mystery is bulked together with romance, fear, murder and slight insanity. This book is by far one of King’s best work, as is the rest of this trilogy.Recent actions
