The late Alan Coren was one of the funniest men in Britain. He wasn't a comedian as such, just a genuinely witty man who would have you chuckling every time he appeared on tv, which was not often enough. His recent death was very sad and so when I saw this book by him in a charity shop I picked it up.
The book is a series of skits based on strange news stories or strange things that Alan had come across. Every single one of them is a delight that quite often had me laughing out loud on the bus or elsewhere. A wonderful testament to a great man who will not get the recognition in popular history that he deserves. Well worth digging up.
